Too bad for General Custer that this album didn’t drop in the early summer days of 1876. It would have certainly helped him hear better in the next life, thus providing a possible alternative to those two Cheyenne women who felt the need to shank his eardrums with sewing needles. Now before you mumble something out of sorts like “what the crap is this dude speaking on?”, let me explain how this relates. The Northern Lights have delivered a debut effort that is to your ears as the aurora borealis is to your eyes. In Custer’s case, these 44 minutes of adjustment may have helped the brother out. In all realty, they may help you out. It is rare to come across life lessons transcribed with such a thundering focus, with such fierce force. The Northern Lights are beats & guitar by Kyle Lampert, rapping vocals by Jason Majlessi (a.k.a. Jahizzi), and singing vocals by Riki Lavi. These artists have their heads screwed on right. Actually, to be more accurate, these artists have their heads screwed on righteously. The messages are clear, based on a solidified one-love outlook, connected to soundscapes that are as impressive as the band’s name suggests. Listen to this album.
