Sleep-Hesitation Wounds Album Review and Download
Download Album: Sleep – Hesitation Wounds
Artist: Sleep
Album: Hesitation Wounds
Label: Strange Famous Records
Release Date: June 30, 2009
Sleep is one interesting musical talent to say the least. Part bullet train rapper, part serenader, part practical joker, part Pacific Northwest representer, part Joe Pesci v2.0, part extra on the set of The Lord of The Rings films. Ok… that last one was a lie. But what is true is this man has many faces within his style of rockin’ mics. The Cousin of Death is an energy ball, burstin’ at his core on every track, regardless of the topic. He’s gonna come at it with both pistols blazin’. As one of the founding members of the Oldominion Crew out of Portland, Oregon, Sleep has been doing this for a long time. He makes very entertaining and provoking music, both in his solo works and with Josh Martinez on their Chicharones projects (which are some of the most comical albums to be heard). Strange Famous Records is a creation of Sage Francis , so you know this album is going to have some… shall we say… “tilt” to it. While Sleep does deliver top notch lyrics (as expected), some of the beats however are a bit questionable (which is not usual). Hesitation Wounds may not be Sleeps best album overall, but its certainly worth copping. He is by far one of the best to come out of the Oldominion Crew.
